Meet Colorado Springs Nurse Practitioner Melinda Poland
Melinda Poland joined Colorado Springs Gynecology Associates (COSGA) in July of 2010. Prior this this she practiced at a large OB/GYN office in Fort Collins for 10 years. At that practice she saw women of all ages, taught the “mother/daughter” classes for Poudre Valley Hospital, and was a guest speaker at the “Wonders of Women” symposium through CSU. She obtained her Master’s degree and Nurse practitioner certification in 1996 from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver Colorado. It was after completion of her Bachelor’s degree through CU in 1994 where she was nominated to be inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. Prior to graduate school she worked as a labor and delivery nurse. After joining COSGA, she completed her First Assistant in Surgery certification through the National Institute for First Assistants located in Denver CO which allows her to assist Dr. Bianco in some of his gynecologic surgeries and cesarean sections. Over the years, her special interests remain in helping women have healthy lives and healthy babies. She and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with their grown children and one audacious 7 year old granddaughter.
